Good to see your writing. I still have some of your sports articles when you covered Fremont-Mills sporting events during my senior year of high school.
It is never too late to start over, Iowa Boy. So glad you have joined this pool of talented journalists. All the way down here, deep in the heart of Texas, the Iowa Writers Collaborative is feeding my Iowa roots in the rich, fertile soul of Iowa journalism. As you know, there has been been a severe drought in TX for years. Keep the waters flowing in Iowa.
I look forward to more of these columns! I always looked forward to your columns in the Register back in the '70s. I still have your book, that you signed while having a look at the cats we had on display at the Ames' North Grand Mall.
Dear Chuck, friend, I am very happy to read this column and know that you will be here regularly. It will be an unforgettable trip for me! Thanks for your friendship. I wish you the best. A hug.
Deal me in Chuck. I hope among your endeavors you will lead me to some of Iowa's fabulous breaded pork tenderloins, mouth watering hot beef or turkey sandwiches and an occasional broasted chicken dinner with tater tots.
Can’t wait to get my grubby little paws on the next column… and the next!

As a former Essex Trojan and Iowa Stater now settled in Denver, this is terrific and look forward to reading.
Oh, boy. This is going to be a hoot.
Chuck my folks were good friends with Barb and Junior Johnson. My family owned Essex Elevator back in the day. Howard and Evelyn.
